Map-based geo-resume platform

Web platform for location-aware professional profiles. Candidates pin their availability radius on a map, recruiters search by region and proximity, profile visibility tied to geofences, branded micro-sites per region. Custom clustering, heatmaps, and travel-time isochrones.

Google Maps API · geocoding · clustering

The problem

A platform needed location-aware professional profiles where candidates pinned an availability radius on a map and recruiters searched by region and proximity. Off-the-shelf job boards treated location as a tag, not a geometry; clustering at city scale did not work; isochrone-based search (within 30 minutes by car) was missing entirely. Recruiters could not match candidates to actual catchment areas.

The approach

We built a Google Maps API frontend with custom clustering tuned to professional density, heatmaps for region-level demand, and travel-time isochrones tied to geocoding. Profile visibility ties to geofences; recruiters search by region or proximity or isochrone; branded micro-sites per region drive local SEO. Geocoding caches inputs to keep API costs predictable as the platform scales.

Stack and engineering choices

  • Google Maps API frontend
  • Custom clustering for density
  • Heatmap region demand view
  • Travel-time isochrones
  • Geofence-bound visibility
  • Geocoding cache
  • Per-region branded micro-sites

Outcome

Candidates and recruiters work in geometry, not location strings. Local search and isochrone-based discovery surface candidates that tag-based search missed. Branded regional micro-sites rank in local search, which feeds the platform candidates organically.
